What are you going to watch this weekend? (July 15 edition)

Happy Thursday!

It’s time to ask the eternal question: What are you watching this weekend?

This is the rare weekend where I don't have "I GOTTA WATCH THIS NOW!!!" plans. That's why I'm thinking about dipping back into Lovecraft Country.

I stopped watching Lovecraft Country midway through its first season because I felt like the series too callously employed the iconography of transphobic violence. It was clear to me that the series was doing this with purpose and intent, and I was willing to see where it was going with these ideas. I just never had the desire to dive back in.

But now the show is nominated for a bajillion Emmys, and I feel like it's finally time to dive back in, especially since some friends of mine assure me that, yes, the show was incorporating those elements with at least some degree of intent. That's all I ask!
