What are you going to watch this weekend? (June 24 edition)

Happy Thursday!

It’s time to ask the eternal question: What are you watching this weekend?

I already saw Fast Nine last week at a press screening. The second it was over, on the train ride home, I texted my wife to say that we should see it again. It's not the best movie I've seen this summer (that remains In the Heights), nor is it the best Fast & Furious movie (that will forever be Fast Five). But my gosh is it fun, and its completely bonkers third act reminded me of Mission: Impossible — Fallout in terms of how well it balanced interpersonal and global stakes. Justin Lin remains a tremendous action director, even if the first two-thirds of this movie are... messy.

But it's worth seeing in a theater, with whatever size crowd you're comfortable with, with a big bag of popcorn. There's nothing quite like a movie like this on a hot day.
