What are you going to watch this weekend? (July 1 edition)

Happy Thursday!

It’s time to ask the eternal question: What are you watching this weekend?

Last weekend, Libby and I started the Peacock show We Are Lady Parts. We had a blast with the first several episodes, and we're hopefully going to finish it this weekend. It follows the four members of an all-Muslim women's punk band in London, plus their manager, their various family members, and an assortment of love interests.

And, look, I don't want to get my queer lady readings all over everything, but there is no way Amina and Saira aren't in love. The show seems to be trying to suggest they're would-be best friends, but oh my gosh, they have so much chemistry. What I'm saying is the show aimed for "friends" and way overshot.

Then again, I haven't seen the last two episodes, so maybe there's kissing? Don't tell me if there is. (Actually, do tell me if there is. I'm onboard the Ship Samina!)
