It's about Beth, a possibly too self-possessed woman who returns home for Christmas with her semi-estranged family for the first time in over a decade, and Tom, a single dad barely keeping his head above water and attempting to finally look head-on at his sexuality. It's about what it means to be in a sisterhood, what it takes to heal a deeply broken family, and what it feels like to be a trans person alive in the 2020s when a lot of people hate our fucking guts. There's also a lot of stuff about fish in it. You might like fish! I don't know! I talked about the book a little with People magazine last month.
