Episodes: I have a podcast!
I'm traveling this week on business, which always leads to fewer newsletters. But I wanted to take the opportunity to alert you to my new podcast, I Think You're Interesting. Each week, I'll talk to somebody from the world of arts and entertainment. Some weeks, it will be a big name. Some weeks, it will be a less known name. And some weeks, it might be a complete unknown. I'm going to talk to artists and critics, media figures and commentators.
The only thing uniting all of them: I think they're interesting.
To kick things off, though, I went with a big, big, big name: Ryan Murphy, the TV impresario behind Glee, American Horror Story, Nip/Tuck, The People v O.J. Simpson, etc., etc., etc. It is, I'm told, his first podcast interview, and he was gracious, forthcoming, and always ready to offer up a thoughtful answer.
We talked about everything from the thematic ideas that unite his work, to his initiatives to broaden diversity in Hollywood, to breaking into the industry as a gay man in the 1990s. We also delved into his prior career in journalism and his reaction to criticism (including some of mine). I was fascinated by everything he had to say, and I hope you will be too.
You can listen to it here, and I hope you'll rate and review it on iTunes as well. That helps the podcast get out there and be seen.
I'll be back on Friday with a new mailbag, so send in your questions. And, hey, hit reply and let me know who you'd like to see on the podcast. Maybe we can make that happen.

New feature! Our Friday mailbag feature is a lot of fun! Why not get involved? Please email me your questions over the course of the week, and I'll pick a few I find interesting and go from there. I'll always answer at least three per week, unless I just don't have the material. AND THAT'S ON YOU.

Episodes is published three-ish times per week, and more if I feel like it. It is mostly about television, except when it's not. Suggest topics for future installments via email or on Twitter. Read more of my work at Vox.
